But apparently that's not the only thing he's changing about the show, having recently revealed that he's looking to get rid of the iconic X Factor theme tune and replace it with something entirely new. It's being reported that Simon recently confirmed they're "scrapping" the theme song because he can't "listen to it again". He added that it's easy to "get into a habit", but called it "one of the three worst theme songs" he's ever heard. The music mogul then added that he's currently asking around Los Angeles in the US to see if anyone is available to write something new for the show, confirmed that he's envisaging X Factor in the same vein as Bond films, and to have a new theme every year. Things went downhill super quickly after the high of winning the first ever series of The X Factor, and Steve's still bitter… even now, 12 years later. But Simon Cowell has revealed he is making a drastic change to The X Factor ahead the new series this year, by axing the theme tune. The music mogul, 59, who co-wrote the synth-heavy tune which has been the soundtrack to many Saturday nights, called the intro music 'the worst he's ever heard' in a candid interview with The Mirror.
